Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact

When you follow the motorcycle scene, it’s easy to get lost in all the new bikes, gear, and toys that are constantly coming out. We tend to forget the good old things we’ve relied on for years.

The Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact is by no means a new tire. In fact, it had its press launch in 2010, so we’ve been using these tires for well over a decade.

But it’s important to remember that longevity counts as well. The Roadtec Z8 Interact has survived all these years for a good reason.

It dominated wet-weather riding tests for years, until it was finally dethroned by its younger sibling, Roadtec 01. However, somebody new coming along doesn’t make the Interact any worse.

Although the Roadtec Z8 I nteract has received some updates over the years to its compound and whatnot, at heart it’s still the same reliable tire. Let’s take a trip down the memory lane and remember just why riders still choose to slap the Interact onto their bikes.

Years of Top Performance

The Roadtec Z8 Interact is a sport touring tire with a pattern developed specifically for heavier motorcycles. Bikes like BMW K 1600 GT or Honda Gold Wing are ideal companions for the tire.

This tire’s claim to fame is—and has always been—it’s excellent wet and cold weather performance. The Interact features a pi-shaped tread pattern and radial and longitudinal groove design provide efficient drainage, no matter how hard it rains.

But you won’t be changing your tires every time the clouds decide to let it pour. The groove pattern on the Interact is spaced out so that the tire allows more rubber to come into contact with the road.

This design provides high grip at full lean on dry roads. It also reduces noise and vibration, making for a more comfortable and confident touring experience.

Inside the tire hide multiple steel belts with varying tensions. The central high tension belt reduces compound movement and boosts stability, while the low tension belts improve grip by warming the rubber.

The high silica compound Metzeler uses on the Interact gives it high mileage and wear resistance.

In short, the Roadtec Z8 Interact removes worries from the equation when you hit the asphalt. The tire is very safe, and it’s not just us saying it—it’s won multiple awards and certifications for excellent safety performance in every weather.

And that’s the secret behind the Roadtec Z8 Interact’s enduring popularity. Rain or shine, the tire lets you lean confidently into the curves and enjoy the ride. It’s as simple as that.

Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact is available from motorcycle dealerships and RevZilla in six front and thirteen rear sizes.
